Manchester City are not concerned by any FIFA investigation into Eliaquim Mangala's £42 million ($61m) transfer from Porto over the controversial issue of third-party ownership as they own the defender outright.
According to Bloomberg, FIFA is reportedly probing the 2014 deal to determine if investor Doyen Sports played an illegal role in the France international's move.
However, sources told ESPN FC that City purchased 100 percent of Mangala's registration, rather than owning him in conjunction with any third party, and that his £42m transfer fee was paid in full to Porto, not to any agent or agency.
Mangala became the most expensive defender in Premier League history when he signed for City last summer, but the league leaders have never had any player owned by a third party, which is banned in England, whereas it is comparatively common in Portugal.
Investment company Doyen Sports part-owned Marcos Rojo before he joined Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon, and Radamel Falcao before he signed for Monaco.
