Manchester City are waiting to see if they will go to Crystal Palace without a senior specialist right-back after Bacary Sagna came off injured in France's win over Serbia. City are already without Pablo Zabaleta, who is out for a month with a knee problem and is yet to feature this season. Sagna has been an ever-present as he has had his longest run in the team since his 2014 arrival from Arsenal but, according to Le Progres, he sustained a problem with his left ankle during Monday's 2-1 victory, in which he provided the assist for the first goal. The former Arsenal man had been limping in the first half and was withdrawn at half-time. Should he be ruled out of the Palace game, Manuel Pellegrini may turn to 18-year-old Spanish right-back Pablo Maffeo, who was on the bench for City's 2-0 win over Watford but is yet to make a first-team appearance. Pellegrini could also give the £31.5 million centre-back Nicolas Otamendi his debut at right-back. Whoever Pellegrini chooses is in line to face an in-form opponent as Palace left winger Bakary Sako has scored in his last two games. City lost three players who could operate at right-back in the summer, with Micah Richards joining Aston Villa, Dedryck Boyata moving to Celtic and James Milner signing for Liverpool.
