MANCHESTER -- Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Samir Nasri have joined Manchester City's lengthening injury list as they are set to face Sheffield Wednesday without six sidelined players.

They will also begin their defence of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday without Stevan Jovetic, Fernando and the suspended Pablo Zabaleta.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini said that none of the injuries are serious but believes both Nasri and Fernando could sit out Saturday's Premier League game against Hull and Tuesday's Champions League clash with Roma, while Jovetic is a doubt for the meeting with the Serie A runners-up.

Aguero, who was City's 28-goal top scorer last season, has a knee problem and Silva, who is an ever present this season, has a minor ankle injury while Zabaleta is banned after being sent off on Sunday against Chelsea.

Pellegrini told in a news conference: "Not in the squad list are Sergio Aguero, who has a kick in his knee, David Silva, [who] has a problem in his ankle and Pablo Zabaleta, [who] is suspended. Fernando and Stevan Jovetic continue recovering from their injuries and Samir Nasri has a groin injury.

"I suppose that David and Sergio will recover without any problem for Saturday. Maybe Stevan can, I don't know or if he cannot play on Saturday, he will be ready for Tuesday. Fernando and Nasri may be [out] until next week."

Fernando has been sidelined by a groin injury since City's 1-0 August defeat to Stoke while Jovetic sustained a hamstring injury on international duty with Montenegro.

Pellegrini is wary of Wednesday after City were knocked out of the FA Cup at home by Wigan last season.

He added: "Especially when you play against a Championship team, it is very difficult. The motivation is not the same and they always try to come here and win.

"We have different experiences last season; we were eliminated here in the FA Cup against Wigan, a Championship team [but] we won the Capital One Cup. We hope we can start in the same way we played the competition last year.

"We won it conceding I think just one goal [on the way to the final] and winning all the games. Sheffield Wednesday is in a very good moment. In the last 10 games, they lost just one."
