Adnan Januzaj revealed he is modelling himself on Cristiano Ronaldo as he looks to follow the Portuguese's path to success at Manchester United.

The Belgian winger, like Portuguese a decade earlier, debuted for United at 18 and has showed his precocious talent. But the slight Januzaj has been impressed with the way the similarly slim Ronaldo bulked up to help him brush off the challenges of defenders.

"I watch him a lot and try to do the same things that he does," Januzaj told Inside United. "He is a very good player. I always look at him and watch his games as well and try to do what he is doing and remember what he did at Manchester United.

"I have to work hard in the gym like he did because, when he came here, he wasn't strong. But after a year or so he became really strong and could push people away. I'm getting a bit stronger now due to the gym work."

Januzaj, who made his first competitive senior appearance for United in the Community Shield against Wigan in August, has gone on to score four goals in 34 games this season. He signed a new five-year deal in October, but has been linked with a move away to Paris St-Germain after United's poor season.

Ronaldo joined United in 2003 from Sporting Lisbon and went on to score 118 goals in 292 games for the club before signing for Real Madrid for a then world record fee of 80 million pounds in 2009.
