The World Cup winner has missed City's last three games with an ankle injury that has troubled him for a number of weeks.

But manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed that the Spain international is available again while defender Matija Nastasic (knee) is back in training following a three-month layoff, leaving winger Jesus Navas (ankle) as the only absentee.

"The only player that we have injured is Jesus Navas," Pellegrini said in a pregame news conference. "All the other players in the squad are fit. David is a very important player for us so to be in the squad list is very important.

"Nastasic is working with the squad but he is not able to play in this moment. He is not injured any more."

City are three points behind league leaders Liverpool but with a game in hand, and their superior goal difference means they are likely to become champions if they win each of their remaining matches.

"It is very important to be fighting for the title to the end and you have the trust to know that your team is also favourite to win it," Pellegrini continued. "That is what we are trying to demonstrate over the last three games."

The City manager also denied that Joe Hart and James Milner, who are likely to be named in England's World Cup squad, will have to play for the club in a friendly against Al Ain in Abu Dhabi after the end of their Premier League campaign.

"All the players of their national squads, not only for England, the last game they are going to play will be on May 11," he added.
