MSL: Singapore midfielder Safuwan Baharudin inspires PDRM in Thailand

Singapore international Safuwan Baharudin has helped his new Malaysian club PDRM FA complete an unbeaten pre-season tour of Thailand.

The Kuala Lumpur-based police side arrived back in Malaysia on Friday ahead of next month's Malaysia Super League (MSL) season.

Former LionsXII utility Safuwan played in both PDRM's matches in Thailand and scored with a trademark header in the first game against Thai Premier League (TPL) side Osotspa Samut Prakan.

PDRM drew 1-1 against Osotspa, who finished 11th in the 2015 TPL, with Safuwan grabbing the Malaysians' equaliser after a free-kick from Maldives' international forward Ali Ashfaq.

The second match saw PDRM defeat Chiangmai FC, 2-1, with Safuwan again turning in an impressive performance. Chiangmai were relegated from the TPL in 2015.

It is Safuwan's first season with PDRM after moving from LionsXII after Singapore were ejected from Malaysian competitions at the end of last year.

The versatile 24-year-old, who had a loan spell with A-League club Melbourne City last year playing mostly as a full-back, is operating as a box-to-box midfielder for PDRM.
