MSL: Felda defeat Kelantan, JDT held by Sime Darby

Felda United continued their early success story in the 2015 Malaysia Super League (MSL) winning 1-0 at fancied Kelantan on Saturday at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Bharu.

Hitherto unbeaten Felda -- who were newly promoted from the Malaysia Premier League this season -- go into the Malaysia FA Cup break as league leaders with eleven points from five matches. Irfan Bakti's side will hope to keep their momentum going in their next league assignment -- a home game on April 4 against Perak who were defeated 3-1 at home by PDRM FA on Saturday.

Liberia international striker Edward Wilson scored the winner at the hour mark against George Boateng's side to give Felda a two-point cushion over second placed PDRM, who leapfrogged Perak in the standings following their win in Saturday's clash in Ipoh between the two teams.

Mohd Hassan gave Perak a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute. But PDRM's former Mali international striker Dramane Traore -- the topscorer of the league -- levelled up things in the 52nd minute and four minutes later midfielder Ahmad Ezrie Shafizie Sazali slotted home to stun the home crowd. Traore then got his second of the night in the 62nd minute to put the game beyond Perak.

Champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) failed to claim three points during their trip to bottom of the league Sime Darby, who claimed their first point after four consecutive losses by holding Bojan Hodak's team to a 1-1 draw.

In Paroi, ATM FA picked up their first win of the season by defeating last year's double Cup winners Pahang 1-0 at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium on Saturday. Nigerian Abdulafees Abdulsalam scored the winner in the 71st minute.

In Saturday's other matches, Terengganu held 2013 champions LionsXII to a 1-1 draw at the Jalan Besar Stadium and Selangor notched their second straight league win beating Sarawak 2-0 at the Shah Alam Stadium.
