Former Chelsea junior Fabio Ferreira played five years in the A-League before joining PKNS.

Direct from Australia's A-League, former Chelsea junior Fabio Ferreira has the lofty ambition of taking his new team PKNS FC to the 2017 Malaysia Cup final.

Portugal-born Ferreira, who spent the last five seasons with Central Coast Mariners and Adelaide United, arrived in Malaysia last month during the mid-season transfer window.

"I do not really know much about the Malaysian league, but I am excited to be here with PKNS and believe I can acclimatise myself quickly," Ferreira told Harian Metro.

The Hari Raya festivities this weekend will mean double delight for Indonesia winger Andik Vermansyah, who is also celebrating a successful comeback to Selangor in the Malaysia Super League (MSL) after a long-term absence.

Andik suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury while playing for his nation in the AFF Suzuki final against Thailand last December, which would rule him out for almost five months.

The setback left Selangor with no choice but to drop him from their squad for the first half...

Kelantan win appeal, given deadline to pay debts to avoid MSL drop

Malaysia Super League (MSL) giants Kelantan still risk demotion to the second division, despite having a six-point deduction cut to three points.

The 2012 MSL champions have been given a deadline of Oct. 31 to settle all outstanding payments to past players and staff to avoid being automatically relegated.

The good news for the Red Warriors was their successful appeal that saw their six-point penalty -- for failing to complete the registration process for the 2017 season -- cut in half.
