Orlando City SC midfielder Matias Perez Garcia has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount by the MLS disciplinary committee for an incident that took place in last weekend's 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls.

Perez Garcia was sanctioned for what was deemed "violent conduct endangering the safety of an opponent."

The incident took place in the 42nd minute of the match. Perez Garcia was tackled by the Red Bulls Felipe Martins, and the Orlando midfielder retaliated by kicking out at Martins while the pair were on the ground. Perez Garcia will now miss this weekend's home match against the LA Galaxy.

Perez Garcia is in his second season with the Lions after spending parts of three campaigns with the San Jose Earthquakes. So far in 2017, he has played in all four of Orlando's matches, recording one assist.
