Clint Dempsey, Andreas Ivanschitz and Jordan Morris scored during a 15-minute span of the first half as the Seattle Sounders routed MLS-leading FC Dallas 5-0 on Wednesday night to snap a four-game winless streak.

Joevin Jones and Cristian Roldan added second-half goals for the Sounders, who started the night with the lowest goal total in the league (14).

Dempsey scored in the sixth minute when he drilled a penalty kick past goalkeeper Chris Seitz for his third goal of the year. The penalty was set up when defender Maynor Figueroa was called for an intentional hand ball just outside of the six-yard box and shown the red card.

That halted a 321-minute clean sheet streak for Dallas.

Seattle had not scored on its home field since a 2-0 victory against San Jose on May 7 -- a drought of 277 minutes.

Connor Lade and Felipe scored as the New York Red Bulls cruised to a 2-0 win over Orlando City.

Alex Muyl deflected Sean Davis' corner toward Bradley Wright-Phillips, who stabbed it away from a crowd of defenders in the 37th minute. Lade rushed to the loose ball and buried it into the top left corner from 15 yards out -- the fifth-year defender's first career MLS goal.

Felipe made it 2-0 for the Red Bulls in the 59th minute on a free kick that bent away from the wall and outside the reach of a diving Joe Bendik. It was Felipe's fourth goal of the season.

New York ended a four-game winless streak by winning it seventh-straight game at home, tied for the most in MLS this season.

Orlando City has gone in its last three and dropped to 4-5-9 overall.

Jordan Hamilton tied it in the 64th minute and Toronto FC held on for a 1-1 draw with Columbus Crew SC.

Jay Chapman punched a diagonal cross into an opening in the 18-yard box and Hamilton raced behind it to put away the left-footed shot.

Harrison Afful opened the scoring in the 54th minute for the Crew. Afful was inside the penalty arc when he volleyed home Josh Williams' attempt to clear with a high-arching header.

Columbus snapped a two-game losing streak but failed to get three points at home while facing Toronto FC without its three designated players -- last year's MVP Sebastian Giovinco, Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore.

Ignacio Piatti scored late in the first half to lift Montreal to a 1-1 draw with Portland.

Portland opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Jack McInerney headed in a corner kick by Jack Jewsbury. Montreal goalkeeper Evan Bush missed his attempt at punching the ball clear, and McInerney scored his fifth goal of the season.

The Timbers appeared to make it 2-0 in the 34th minute, when Fanendo Adi headed in a cross from Ben Zemanski, but the goal was disallowed, as Adi was called for a foul just before the header.

Piatti's 11th goal of the season levelled it for Montreal.

The draw extends unbeaten streaks for both teams. Portland is undefeated in their last eight games, while Montreal's streak has reached six games..

Michael de Leeuw scored in the 19th minute as the Chicago Fire made it a 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City.

Razvan Cocis made a run up the left side and crossed it to De Leeuw for the close-range goal. Sean Johnson made two key saves for his third shutout of the season.

The 29-year-old de Leeuw was in his first MLS start and second overall appearance. He signed with the Fire on May 18 after playing seven professional seasons in the Netherlands.

Kansas City missed a couple of opportunities in the first half. Dom Dwyer had a goal waved off by an offside call and Jacob Peterson's shot hit off the left post.

The start of the game was delayed by one hour, 40 minutes due to a storm in the area.

Cristian Techera scored three minutes after a Real Salt Lake own goal to hand the Vancouver Whitecaps a 2-0 win.

The MLS win was Vancouver's first at B.C. Place Stadium since May 11 and snapped an ugly 1-3-2 streak overall.

The Whitecaps had their first shutout since April 23, a stretch of 11 matches.

Vancouver took the lead in the 34th minute when Matias Laba sent a low cross into the Real penalty area that Salt Lake's Tony Beltran cleared off fellow defender Justen Glad and into his own net.

Techera added his second goal of the season in the 37th minute, taking a pass from Christian Bolanos and scoring from 35 yards out.
