Steven Gerrard to return vs. Houston, Robbie Rogers 'back shortly' - Arena
Bruce Arena gave an update on injured LA Galaxy players Steven Gerrard and Robbie Rogers, with the former Liverpool midfielder expected to be available for Friday's match at the Houston Dynamo.
Gerrard, 35, who suffered a calf injury to his left leg in LA's win vs. San Jose and has missed the team's last two games, is back to full training.
"We expect Stevie to be available," Arena said on LAGalaxy.com. "We'll get him through training over the next couple days. We haven't thought about our travel squad yet. We'll do that after training tomorrow."
As for Rogers, who left Sunday's 0-0 draw vs. the Portland Timbers in the eighth minute after suffering a hip contusion, the prognosis from Arena also sounded positive.
"He should be back shortly," Arena said of the right-back, who's been with the Galaxy since 2013.
