Colorado Rapids add Conor Doyle in trade with D.C. United

The Colorado Rapids acquired forward Conor Doyle from D.C. United on Tuesday in the second trade between the MLS clubs this month.

D.C. United will receive a third-round draft pick in 2017 for Doyle.

Last week, D.C. added midfielder Marcelo Sarvas from Colorado for targeted allocation money and a 2018 draft pick.

The 24-year-old Doyle scored four MLS goals for D.C. since joining the club in July 2013. He made 25 appearances in the regular season last year and scored twice in the CONCACAF Champions League.

"We believe Conor is an excellent addition to our roster," said Rapids director Paul Bravo. "Although he is still young, he already has wide experience in MLS and Europe.

"His ability to cover a number of offensive positions gives us strength in depth as we approach the new campaign."
