Sebastian Giovinco won't go on European loan after MLS - agent

Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco will not be moving on loan once the MLS season ends, according to his agent Andrea D'Amico.

Giovinco, 28, set a new record and netted 22 goals with 16 assists in a stellar campaign for the Canadian side, but they were knocked out of the MLS Cup by Montreal Impact on Oct. 29.

Some MLS players go out on loan until the resumption of the domestic season, but Giovinco will not be embarking on a potential move back to Italy's Serie A or anywhere else in Europe.

"No. Absolutely not," D'Amico told Rai Sport's Zona11. "Giovinco made a decision [to play for Toronto FC] of which he's absolutely convinced and with which he's happy. And on top of that, Toronto FC have invested in him for a project that is not based on single moments or buzz.

"So now they go on vacation and they start preparations again in Florida at the end of January to get ready for the next season and to do even better [than 2015]."

Giovinco was recently linked with a move to Barcelona -- who first showed interest back in 2012 when he was with Parma -- but D'Amico insisted the forward is happy where he is.

"There was interest, but nothing too in-depth," he added. "It's a little amazing that these kinds of teams didn't get in touch with him before he went on his adventure in North America. But right now he's concentrated on his decision [to play for Toronto FC]."
