Ronaldinho motivated by big names in MLS as he debates future

Brazilian star Ronaldinho says the recent influx of star players to Major League Soccer motivates all players to come play in the league -- perhaps even himself.

The 35-year-old is currently without a club since his contract with Fluminense was terminated in September, and ESPN Deportes reported last week that he was choosing between continuing his career in MLS and Qatar.

Speaking to FutbolMLS.com in Los Angeles this week, Ronaldinho confirmed that he was in the United States "working with sponsors and looking to the future."

Asked of his opinion on MLS, he said: "It's a league that's growing, and the United States is a country I love."

Ronaldinho's countryman Kaka just completed his first season with Orlando City, and MLS also saw the additions this year of international stars Andrea Pirlo, David Villa, Didier Drogba and Steven Gerrard.

And the 2005 Ballon d'Or winner said the caliber of players was impressive.

"It motivates every single player in the world to want to come here because everyone wants to be where the best players are," Ronaldinho said.

Ronaldinho also said Kaka in particular has been complimentary of the league during his debut season.

"When you hear this coming from one of the biggest names in soccer, it also gives you the desire to come here," Ronaldinho said. "As I said before, today I'm here doing other things, but who knows what can happen in the future."
