WASHINGTON -- Chris Rolfe scored two second-half goals within 11 minutes, as D.C. United came from behind to beat the New England Revolution 2-1.
Rolfe smashed a volley into the top of the net for the tying goal in the 70th minute. Fabian Espindola's service from the right flank floated just over leaping defender Teal Bunbury's head to find Rolfe's right foot.
Rolfe then put United ahead from the penalty spot in the 81st minute with a blast into the right corner. Miguel Aguilar drew the penalty on Steve Neumann's challenge near the top-left corner of the 18-yard box.
United ended their two-game losing streak and stretched their Eastern Conference lead to seven points over the second-place Revolution.
Charlie Davies gave New England the lead in the 11th minute with a left-footed stab to finish Lee Nguyen's cross. It was Davies' seventh goal of the season.
In Utah, Olmes Garcia's shot in the 93rd minute was redirected by Sporting Kansas City defender Kevin Ellis, giving Real Salt Lake a stunning 2-1 victory.
Real Salt Lake entered with just two wins in the last 11 matches.
Sebastian Jaime put Real Salt Lake in front in the 15th minute with a header that glanced off the bottom of the crossbar. It was the designated player's first MLS goal in nine career starts and finished Javier Morales' corner kick.
Dom Dwyer tied it in the 30th minute, running behind Benny Feilhaber's pass for a right-footed finish from the middle of the box.
Dwyer nearly added another with a header in the 64th minute, but Nick Rimando came up with the save.
