New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones will have surgery on Tuesday to repair a sports hernia, the club confirmed to MLSsoccer.com.
Jones will miss the Revs' preseason Desert Diamond Cup next week, but there was no word if the 33-year-old will be able to return for the MLS season opener at Seattle on March 8.
"Tomorrow's my surgery so I'll be out for a couple weeks, but then I'll get back sharp," Jones said in a video posted on Instagram on Monday.
