NYCFC set pre-season friendlies vs. European clubs in Manchester

New York City FC have arranged two pre-season friendlies against European opposition in Manchester as they prepare for their inaugural season in Major League Soccer.

They will face Scottish side St Mirren on Feb. 10 and former Danish champions Brondby five days later.

Both matches will be played at the City Football Academy, using the 7,000-capacity stadium at the new training complex near Manchester City's Etihad Stadium ground.

New York City FC, who begin their preparations at a training camp in Florida, will then return to the United States to play two games in the Carolina Challenge Cup.

"St Mirren and Brondby will provide top class opposition for us ahead of our first competitive MLS game against Orlando on March 8," head coach Jason Kreis told NYC's official website.

"We're delighted to be taking on such strong opposition at a very important stage of our pre-season.

"Following our training camp in Florida these matches will provide the perfect opportunity to test our progress as a team."
