Eddie Johnson injures hamstring

WASHINGTON -- D.C. United forward Eddie Johnson left D.C.'s match against FC Dallas Saturday in the 51st minute with what the team called an aggravated left hamstring.

United coach Ben Olsen said Johnson's removal was largely precautionary, and said "I think he'll be fine, but we'll evaluate that."

Johnson, 30, is among the forwards in consideration to be selected for the Americans' trip to the World Cup this summer in Brazil. He was selected for the 2006 World Cup, but was left off the 2010 squad.

He was not made available to reporters after the game.

Johnson scored four goals in 11 appearances for the U.S. over the one-and-a-half-yearlong CONCACAF World Cup qualifying process. He last appeared for the U.S. as a substitute in a 2-2 friendly draw against Mexico on April 2.

Johnson has yet to score for United since joining the club this offseason, but had 23 goals in MLS play across the 2012 and 2013 seasons playing with the Seattle Sounders.
