Hargreaves could make MLS move
Midfielder Owen Hargreaves has said he could move to an MLS club as he seeks to reignite his injury-plagued career.
Hargreaves, 31, whose most recent clubs were Manchester United and Manchester City, was born in Canada and says an MLS switch would enable him to see more of his family.
He made two starting appearances for City last season before being released in May, and told the BBC there was interest in him from American clubs.
“They want me to go and play over there,” he said. “It is a big move. You have to decide do you want to make the move, a big change? There are so many things I could do there, and it would be nice to spend time in Canada.”
He said he was back to full fitness and ready to play, but explained: “Having focused so much on football since I was 15, I am just taking a step back.”
