Memphis Depay says best is yet to come after two-goal Lyon haul

Memphis Depay said there was more to come from him after scoring twice as Lyon thrashed Metz 5-0 at the weekend.

The former Manchester United attacker made it three goals in seven league games since arriving from Old Trafford in January.

But Netherlands international Depay told reporters: "Even if I scored two goals today, there are still things I can do better.

"I'm improving. That's the second time I've played the whole 90 minutes.

"I'm still not at my best. I'm only 23 years old, and I have a lot of things to learn. I can improve and make my game more complete, but I keep on working and try my best."

Depay could have scored a hat trick but instead attempted to find teammate Christophe Jallet with a pass that eventually led to an own goal.

And colleague Alexandre Lacazette said: "He needed time to adapt to the team, to understand the style of play and for us to understand how he likes to play, his qualities.

"It's going better and better. We get on well, and in training we work on the understanding we can have."
