Lyon president vows changes next week with pressure on Hubert Fournier

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will announce "a certain number of changes" on Dec. 28 as pressure builds on coach Hubert Fournier.

Sunday's defeat to GFC Ajaccio means Lyon have taken only one point from six games since November 8's 3-0 derby win over St Etienne and lie ninth in Ligue 1, five points adrift of the top three.

They also finished bottom of their Champions League group despite finishing with a win over Valencia, and a run to the Coupe de la Ligue quarterfinals is scant consolation for a club of OL's stature.

That has left Aulas restless and Fournier, who along with his backroom staff signed a new contract this summer, looks set to be in the firing line.

"We are moving towards a certain number of changes," Aulas told OLTV. "I will communicate them on Dec. 28.

"We must not lose our cool, we must respect people's rights and take time to announce things. I am having a holiday for two or three days and then we will see what we will do.

"But it is not only the coach who is to blame, the players are also at fault."

In an extensive round of interviews following the 2-1 setback on Corsica, Aulas hinted his mind is already made up as he told beIN Sports: "I will take the decisions but I will not announce them, even if I have already taken them."

He concluded on Canal+: "We have a week to reflect, to see what we must change. We will be ready to resume (training) on the 28th, certainly in somewhat different conditions."
