Gerard Houllier believes Alexandre Lacazette can develop into a "world-class" striker as he attempts to fire Lyon to the Ligue 1 title.
Lacazette, 23, is the top scorer in the French top flight this season with 21 goals as Lyon sit top of the table with 51 points.
The striker returned to training last week after picking up a thigh injury in January, and Houllier says the France international -- who has been linked with a Premier League move in recent months -- is on course to become one of the best finishers in the game.
Speaking to Ligue 1's official website, former Lyon, Paris Saint-German and Liverpool coach Houllier said: "[Lacazette] can become very good. At the moment he's flirting with the international level, but he's not [a] top international yet. He's top of the Premier League in France, I mean Ligue 1, but he's not international yet and he knows that.
"But he can be world-class if he keeps progressing and working on his talent. I was told he's a very dedicated professional. So if he looks after himself and if he does the right thing, he can become really top of the notch really."
Ligue 1 champions PSG trail Lyon by two points alongside Marseille, and while Houllier says a lack of pressure could benefit Lyon in the title race, he believes Laurent Blanc's side have the edge in terms of experience.
"I expected probably Paris to win the race more easily; I was surprised by Lyon because it's a young team lacking a bit of experience," he said. "But they play very well together and their game is fluent and very entertaining.
"I think that what can play a role is that they have no pressure. Probably if you ask anybody in Lyon they would say they would be happy even finishing second, because when you finish second you don't have to play the [Champions League group-stage] playoff, and the playoff could be cruel and crucial.
"So I think that Lyon has probably less pressure but also less experience in some key games."
When asked who would lift the Ligue 1 title, Houllier replied: "Paris. Maybe because of the fixtures, because I think Lyon has got some difficult fixtures to play, and also because in the end Paris has got enough potential even when they have got some injured players to pick themselves up and win the title."
