Liverpool's principal owner, John Henry, has praised the job manager Jurgen Klopp has done in guiding the team to their first Champions League final for a decade.
Liverpool will take on Real Madrid in Kiev, Ukraine, on May 26 and Henry, the head of Fenway Sports Group, is looking forward to attending the game.
"Jurgen has done a tremendous job, as has everybody associated with the club,'' Henry said at a Major League Baseball news conference in London on Tuesday. "I am very, very excited to go to the Champions League final. It's for Jurgen and everyone associated with the club.
"This is for our fans around the world, this is what this club is all about -- trying to win European championships. Our fans really pushed us past Manchester City, they pushed us past Roma so that when we were playing the away legs, we were already in such a great position.''
Liverpool, who host Brighton at Anfield on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday, are still trying to secure their place in the top four.
Meanwhile, Mainz coach Sandro Schwarz said Klopp's attacking style was the inspiration for the team's win at Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Mainz are safe from relegation after a 2-1 victory in the penultimate Bundesliga game of the season.
Schwarz said he attempted to mirror Liverpool's approach in their 5-2 result over Roma in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal.
"I was so excited by the game and by Liverpool's attacking," Schwarz told reporters after the game. "I called my video analyst straight away and got him to cut and paste all of the clips together."
Mainz were 2-0 up inside the opening 13 minutes before holding on after Maximilian Philipp quickly pulled one back for the hosts.
Schwarz, 39, was a teammate of Klopp's at Mainz before he was later managed by the German.
