LIVERPOOL -- Mohamed Salah has been left out of Liverpool's squad for Saturday's Merseyside derby.

Salah came off early in the second half of Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Manchester City on Wednesday night after appearing to complain of an issue in his leg.

Jurgen Klopp said on Friday that Liverpool were doing everything possible to make the 38-goal forward fit for the Goodison Park encounter.

Salah and Roberto Firmino, who is on the substitutes' bench, have been replaced by Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke.

Meanwhile, Nathaniel Clyne will make his first start of the after being named in the starting XI, while Ragnar Klavan has returned from injury.

Loris Karius, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane all started against City in midweek, but keep their place for the Everton match. There is also a place for 17-year-old Curtis Jones on the bench.

Meanwhile, Everton start with Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott, while Tom Davies comes in for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
