Emre Can has told Sport Bild that Liverpool's defensive errors would be less obvious had they been more clinical at the other end of the pitch and said no one at the club is questioning Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool's defending has come in for criticism during an indifferent start to the season, but a failure to convert chances has also been prevalent in the opening months of the 2017-18 campaign. They have a shot-conversion rate of 13.5 percent in the Premier League and in their last seven matches in all competitions they have managed just eight goals from 143 shots. "I've read a stat which shows that we had 120 shots in the past seven matches, and we only scored seven goals (sic)," Can said. "That's clearly not enough." When asked whether Liverpool should have strengthened their defence over the summer, he added: "It's in any case a fact that our defending wasn't good recently, and we conceded too many goals. I still believe that if we had scored those goals then we would have those matches and nobody would talk about our defence. "The coach himself says that we didn't play badly. We dominated our opponents in nearly all of the matches, and were the better side. Jurgen Klopp is convinced that we only need that bit of luck to get back to winning ways." Despite the slow start, Can insists all the players are confident Klopp can help the side return to winning ways. Earlier this week marked two years since Klopp took over at Anfield. "Nobody at Liverpool questions the manager," Can added. "Jurgen Klopp is a top, top manager. "As a team, we all want to work with him.
