Liverpool to honour Kenny Dalglish ahead of Manchester United match

Liverpool will honour club legend Kenny Dalglish ahead of their upcoming fixture with Manchester United at Anfield.

The Merseyside outfit have announced plans to unveil new branding of the Kenny Dalglish Stand and hold up mosaics in two stands prior to kickoff on Oct. 14 to recognise the Scot's service to the club.

The cover of the matchday programme for the United game will also be dedicated to Dalglish.

Back in May, Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group, took the decision to rename the Centenary Stand as the Kenny Dalglish Stand in line with the club's 125th anniversary.

Work began on branding the Kenny Dalglish Stand earlier this week, with the installation of illuminated signage and exterior graphics to the front and inside of the stand, which should be completed ahead of a fan unveiling at the United fixture.

Dalglish is widely regarded as the best player in the Liverpool's history, scoring 172 goals in 515 appearances after joining from Celtic in 1977.

He also enjoyed two spells as manager and now currently holds the position of non-executive board director.
