Liverpool's Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge back in team training

LIVERPOOL -- Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge will participate in full training on Friday ahead of Liverpool's trip to Watford, manager Jurgen Klopp has said.

Lallana is hoping to make a comeback at Vicarage Road on Monday night after a month on the sidelines, having sustained a thigh injury on international duty with England.

Sturridge, meanwhile, was absent from Sunday's loss against Crystal Palace due to a recurrence of a hip injury, sources told ESPN FC.

Reports later emerged that the striker's injury meant he could have potentially played his last game for the Merseyside club with his future uncertain.

"Adam is back in team training today for the first time, so that's very, very good news," Klopp told a news conference at Melwood on Friday. "Daniel is in team training today, too. That's good.

"We have to train with the boys and see how they are, see what shape they are and see what we can do with them."

Klopp also added that there was "nothing new" to say about the fitness of captain Jordan Henderson, who has been absent since February with a foot injury.

Liverpool have received a boost after Mamadou Sakho's injury was found to not be as serious as first feared, having been stretchered off during Crystal Palace's loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

While a scan has revealed that the on-loan Frenchman has not torn the ligament in his knee, he may miss the rest of the season.

Sakho appears to have no future at Anfield and any long-term injury would likely have affected the Reds' chances of receiving a hefty transfer fee in the summer.

"We saw the pictures with Mamadou, it looked really awful so it could have been everything," Klopp said.

"Since we got the images from Crystal Palace, we know there are no ligaments involved.

"In a situation like this, maybe not for Crystal Palace, for the player it's the best thing he could get.

"I think he's out for a few weeks but that's something which will be good at the end.

"But at the end of the season, each injury is a big blow because there's not a lot of time to recover, if you want. That's the one thing."

Klopp was speaking to reporters on the day Dejan Lovren signed a new four-year contract at the club that sees the defender's weekly wage jump to the region of £100,000, sources told ESPN FC.
