James Milner sets Premier League record for unbeaten scoring run

Liverpool's James Milner now holds the record for the most Premier League games unbeaten when he has been on the scoresheet.

Milner, 31, was on target from the penalty spot as Liverpool drew 1-1 with Manchester City on Sunday.

The midfielder, who has played at left-back this season, has now avoided being on the losing side in the last 47 top-flight matches he has scored in -- winning 37 and drawing 10.

Milner is now ahead of Darius Vassell (46), Cesc Fabregas (42), Salomon Kalou (32) and Oyvind Leonhardsen (28).

The former England international's run stretches back to his boyhood club Leeds United in 2002, which preceded moves to Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Milner has scored seven times from the penalty spot in the Premier League this season, three short of a club-record held by former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, who netted 10 in 2013-14.
