Adam Lallana thrilled to see Liverpool bounce back vs. Middlesbrough

Adam Lallana was pleased with Liverpool's response to their recent disappointing results in the 3-0 win away at Middlesbrough on Wednesday.

Lallana, 28, was in fine form at the Riverside Stadium, scoring two goals either side of half-time to move Liverpool into second place in the Premier League.

The England international believes it was important for he and his teammates to bounce back following the previous two matches -- a defeat to Bournemouth and draw against West Ham -- that saw the Reds drop much-needed points in their efforts to keep pace with leaders Chelsea.

"[It was] a very good night's work at the end," Lallana said. "It was a very difficult start. We obviously knew it was going to be a difficult place to come and I thought we came out of the second half brilliantly and got the goals at good times. It could have been two or three a bit earlier, but we stuck at it and we're thoroughly pleased with the result.

"We've dropped a couple of points, especially the Bournemouth game when we were 3-1 up. It was important that when we were 2-0 and 3-0 up to stay concentrated and a clean sheet is good for the team."

Divock Origi netted Liverpool's second goal of the night on his 50th Premier League appearance for the club.

Origi, 21, who has now scored five goals in as many matches, has only made three starts in the league this season, but feels he is growing into his role, with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho currently out through injury.

Asked how long he intends to keep his goal-scoring run going, Origi replied: "Hopefully as long as possible. I'm feeling better and better every game. I'm starting to know the other teammates -- the passes, the routines. It helps. I'm always happy to help the team."
