Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez are world's best players - Coutinho

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has told Four Four Two he considers Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar to be the best players in the world.

Coutinho played alongside Suarez during his time at Liverpool and is a Brazil international teammate of Neymar.

"My top three players in the world are the MSN trio," he said. "One is fast, the other is skilful and then there's the top scorer, so they really complete each other.

"Obviously there are others at Real Madrid too, like Cristiano Ronaldo, but those three complete each other."

Coutinho -- linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks -- will be out for at least five weeks with ankle ligament damage, manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The 24-year-old was stretchered off midway through the win over Sunderland on Saturday and underwent a scan on his right ankle on Monday.

Klopp told BBC 5 Live on Tuesday: "Phil needs between five and a few weeks until we have him back. We will see."

Coutinho has been an integral member of the Liverpool side that is riding high in the Premier League, scoring five goals in 13 league appearances.

However, Klopp told a news conference on Monday that Liverpool could cope without their Brazilian talisman.

"As good as he is, he does not decide games by himself although it sometimes looks like this," Klopp said.

"It is a team performance we create and he is a very important part of this team, absolutely. Of course we can handle it. If he is not in, you have to show -- and we will show."
