Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo returns to training following back injury

Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo has been pictured in first-team training as he looks to return from a back injury.

Ojo, 19, has been on the sidelines since August with a fracture in his back and was initially expected to be out for a month.

Liverpool were unwilling to put a concrete timescale on the youngster's return due to the nature of the injury and he has only recently been given the green light to step up his recovery.

Ojo had a breakthrough campaign at Anfield last season, making 11 first-team appearances in total for the Reds.

After competing at the European Under-19 Championship, the England youth international passed up the opportunity of a holiday in the summer to join up with Liverpool on their preseason tour to the United States as he did not want to miss any crucial training time with manager Jurgen Klopp.

Meanwhile, Liverpool defender Joe Gomez was also present at training at Melwood on Monday after making a return to action at the weekend following 13 months out with injury.

The 19-year-old played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors friendly against League Two side Accrington Stanley on Sunday, which Liverpool won 5-0.
