Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: No concerns over Loris Karius form

Jurgen Klopp has said he has no concerns about the form of Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius ahead of Monday's meeting with Manchester United.

Karius looked nervous in Liverpool's 2-1 win at Swansea City and has struggled to command his penalty area since taking the starting spot from Simon Mignolet.

It is expected that Jose Mourinho's United side will use their height and strength in the air to target him at Anfield, but Klopp has faith in his summer signing from Mainz.

"It was only once [when he didn't come off his line at Swansea] actually," the Liverpool Echo reported him as saying. "We have analysed that.

"Whichever goalkeeper I choose, unfortunately he will not be totally free of mistakes and that's the way it is. That's the game and that's no problem.

"But it's about giving the boys the best feeling and the biggest support to perform at their best, and that's what we do.

"My job is to create an atmosphere where single mistakes are not really important. That's how it is in this case, and we will see on Monday how my decision was."

Mignolet began the season as Liverpool's starting goalkeeper while Karius recovered from a broken hand suffered during preseason.

But the German has started the last three games, and Klopp said he would not be regularly changing his No. 1.

The Reds boss added: "It's difficult, but from my point of view it's a luxury problem. It's a decision between two very strong goalkeepers.

"I can't handle the goalkeeping position like I handle all the other positions. I can't say: 'Today you, tomorrow you,' like I may with a defender or full-back or striker.

"It's not possible. I respect this, so I will make my decision."
