Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool's Emre Can needs time to get his rhythm back

Jurgen Klopp has welcomed Emre Can's return to the Liverpool squad and is willing to give the midfielder time to regain his "rhythm" after he recovered from injury to feature in the EFL Cup win against Derby County.

Can, 22, damaged his ankle in the previous round of the competition, a 5-0 win against Burton Albion, but played over 30 minutes at Pride Park as Klopp's side earned a 3-0 victory.

And Klopp is happy to ease the Germany international back into the fold and manage his workload in order to get the best out of him.

"Fitness is not a problem," he told the club's official website. "Emre is a player who has a strong, strong mentality and he can fight. But you saw again it's about rhythm.

"You cannot go into a shop and buy rhythm. You need to work for it and that's what we are doing. I'm not rushing it.

"Emre is cool enough and experienced enough. We can use him, that's good. He is back, that's very good. But, of course, I don't know who will play at the weekend and what will happen [before] the weekend.

"The most important [thing] is that the more players I have and the more difficult the choices for me, the better it is for LFC."
