Jurgen Klopp calm over Sadio Mane's Liverpool impact after Burton display

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is attempting to manage the expectations of forward Sadio Mane after another impressive performance against Burton Albion on Tuesday night.

Mane was the star of the show of the show in the second-round EFL Cup tie with Nigel Clough's Championship side, having played a part in four of Liverpool's goals in the 5-0 win at the Pirelli Stadium.

The Senegal international has been an instant hit at Anfield following his £30 million move from Southampton in June.

The 24-year-old was sorely missed by Klopp in Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Burnley due to a shoulder injury after being the standout performer in the Reds' Premier League opener away at Arsenal.

Mane continued that fine form in east Staffordshire, but Klopp did not want discuss his new attacking outlet too much afterwards.

"I like this player but I do not like talking about him too much," Klopp said. "We do not have to celebrate ourselves every day just because we have bought him. We have to try and improve.

"There is nothing else to say about this at the moment."

Meanwhile, Divock Origi was given the nod to start the game midweek upfront over Daniel Sturridge, who came off the bench to score a brace in the second half.

Origi broke the deadlock on Tuesday with a well-taken backheel, and Klopp hopes he continues to have tough choices on his hands when selecting Liverpool's front line.

"At the end I have to make decisions," Klopp added. "But it's my job to find the right solution the job the players have to do is be in the best shape they can be.

"It's clear what both sides have to do and hopefully the decisions are difficult for me."
