LIVERPOOL -- Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he is unsure whether Sadio Mane will be fit for Saturday's game against Burnley, but did confirm that the injury he sustained is not a serious one.
Mane, who joined the Reds from Southampton for £30 million back in June, was taken to hospital on Wednesday for scans after he collided with a player and injured his shoulder in a training session.
The results of the tests showed that the forward only suffered muscle damage and did not dislocate his shoulder, but was, ultimately, a doubt for Liverpool's second Premier League fixture of the season.
"It was a situation, a challenge between two players up in the air, coming down and then Sadio fell on his shoulder but it's not that serious," Liverpool manager Klopp told reporters at a news conference on Thursday afternoon.
"In this moment, I have no idea if he could be available for the weekend or not, but I don't think it will take a long time. It would have been better without this situation, but things like this will always happen and you cannot avoid this.
"In the first moment it was not too good, but meanwhile I think it is all OK."
Klopp added that Daniel Sturridge and James Milner are back in full training ahead of the trip to Turf Moor, having both missed the side's 4-3 win in their Premier League opener away at Arsenal on Sunday.
Mamadou Sakho is also close to a return to training after suffering an Achilles injury in July, as is Lucas Leiva, who is recovering from a hamstring issue.
"In full training [we have] Milly [Milner] and Daniel," Klopp continued. "Lucas is on a good way and made the warm up with us and then we let him do something else. Maybe today he is in team training, we will see.
"Mama [Sakho] is in a better way, not part of team training but is not too far away from it, so that's good."
Meanwhile, Klopp said that there was "no update" on the futures of Mario Balotelli and Christian Benteke after the latter was subject to a bid from Crystal Palace this week.
Liverpool turned down the £23m plus £7m in add-ons offer from the Premier League side, with sources telling ESPN FC that the conditions for additional payments were "wildly unrealistic."
