Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic secures work permit - source

Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has been granted a work permit, a club source has told ESPN FC.

Serbia international Grujic attended a hearing at a hotel in Manchester on Monday, where he successfully gained clearance to work in the United Kingdom.

Jurgen Klopp attended the hearing in person to give a testimony and the Liverpool manager gave his thoughts on the value of the 20-year-old.

However, Grujic could miss Liverpool's first preseason friendly against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Friday night because there are still procedural issues to iron out.

Grujic trained with Liverpool for the first time on Saturday as he looks to impress Klopp ahead of his first season on Merseyside.

He became Klopp's first signing as Liverpool manager in January from Red Star Belgrade before immediately returning to the Serbian side on loan for the remainder of the 2015-16 season, helping them to success in the Serbian SuperLiga.
