Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge 'good to go' after return to training

Daniel Sturridge has suggested he could play a part in Liverpool's game on Monday at Sunderland by tweeting that he's "good to go."

The injury-plagued striker had only just returned from a serious knee injury when he suffered a hamstring issue on Dec. 6 against Newcastle.

But after Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Premier League leaders Leicester on Saturday, Sturridge wrote on Twitter:

Sturridge has only appeared in five Premier League games this season and scored twice against Aston Villa in September. He also recorded a brace in a Capital One Cup win at Southampton on Dec. 2.

A return for Sturridge is certain to be welcomed by Jurgen Klopp, who saw his starting striker Divock Origi forced out of the game with a hamstring injury in the first half on Saturday. His replacement, Christian Benteke, scored the only goal of the game.

Referring to the injuries to Sturridge and Origi, Klopp said: "Hamstring is the s--- word of the year for me. It is always hamstring, hamstring, hamstring -- that is the intensity of the game and fixtures."
