Jurgen Klopp assistant Zeljko Buvac joins coaching staff at Liverpool

New Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac has been cleared to join the club after receiving a UK work permit.

The Bosnian coach was set to take training for the first time on Wednesday, and he will be on the touchline when the Reds visit Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.

Buvac was named as assistant last Thursday following the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as manager.

Zeljko Buvac is to work alongside Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

The 54-year-old has been an assistant to Klopp for 14 years, first at Mainz -- where they were also teammates in the 1990s -- and then at Borussia Dortmund. But there had been a delay over the granting of a work permit for Buvac, preventing him from flying to Merseyside to start his new job.

Klopp has described Buvac as "the brain" in his coaching team, and the Bosnian has been credited for developing the high-speed attacking style that brought success at Dortmund, who won the Bundesliga in 2011 and 2012.

Klopp and his other coach Peter Krawietz have been taking training since Monday, working with the players not on international duty.
