Kenny Dalglish's 1984 European Cup medal to raise money for charity

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish is to put his winner's medal from the 1984 European Cup final up for auction.

Former Liverpool forward and manager Dalglish helped the club lift the trophy 31 years ago after they beat Roma 4-2 on penalties.

Dalglish, who made 515 appearances for the Reds and scored 172 goals, is to auction off his medal to help raise money for charity.

The money generated from the sale will go to the Marina Dalglish Appeal, which helps to raise funds for cancer sufferers and their family.

The appeal was set up in 2005 following Dalglish's wife Marina's successful treatment for breast cancer.
