Liverpool to play in Thailand in July for preseason tour of Australia, Far East

Liverpool will return to Thailand in July to start their preseason tour of Australia and the Far East.

Brendan Rodgers' side will face a Thai Premier League All-Stars team at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on July 14.

Liverpool last visited the country in 2013, when they beat Thailand 3-0 with goals from Philippe Coutinho, Iago Aspas and Steven Gerrard.

The club have pledged to take a full first-team squad as they make what will be their sixth visit to Bangkok, with former Liverpool strikers Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush also travelling out to meet fans.

They will be joined by coaching staff from the Liverpool FC Foundation charity to carry out community work and take part in official supports club events.

Midfielder Joe Allen told the club's official website: "With so many Liverpool fans in Thailand, the opportunity to play in the country is fantastic and the team are really looking forward to it.

"The reception the club received during the 2013 visit was unbelievable and I am looking forward to experiencing that passion and delivering some great football."

Two fixtures in Australia against A-League teams have already been arranged as part of this summer's tour, with Liverpool taking on Brisbane Roar on July 17, and Adelaide United three days later.

They will then face a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur on July 24.
