Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho named Player of the Year, wins four awards

Philippe Coutinho picked up four honours at the Liverpool's end of season awards ceremony on Tuesday night, winning Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year, Individual Performance of the Year and Goal of the Year.

Coutinho, 22, has enjoyed a stellar season scoring eight goals in 51 appearances, with his displays also earning him a place in the the PFA Team of the Year as voted for by all players in the Premier League.

He won the club's goal of the season for his superb long-range strike against Southampton, while individual performance came for his match-winning display against Manchester City at Anfield on March 1.

Departing skipper Steven Gerrard was also given the Outstanding Achievement award in recognition for his 17 years with the Merseyside club.

Raheeem Sterling won the Young Player of the Season award, but he was booed by some fans due to the ongoing uncertainty over his future.

Joao Carlos Teixeira was named Academy Players' Player of the Year, although he was out on loan at Championship club Brighton & Hove Albion. Legends Ron Yeats and Ian St John were handed Lifetime Achievement awards 50 years on from the club's first-ever FA Cup win.
