Liverpool take Dulwich striker Carr on trial

Dulwich Hamlet have said striker Daniel Carr will have a trial at Liverpool after scoring 23 goals in 23 matches for the non-leaguers this season.

Carr, 18, has attracted the attention of several Premier League and Championship clubs, but the Merseysiders are the first to invite him for a trial.

London club Dulwich play in the Isthmian League and their manager Gavin Rose has said he is confident that Carr has the talent and temperament to succeed far further up the football ladder.

"Daniel has done well for us since he joined us in September," he told talksport. "He came to us after being released from Reading.

“He went on trial at a few league clubs and signed for us as a winger, but we saw something in him as a central striker and he's done really well, progressed every week and scored goals.”

Rose said the player would train with Liverpool's academy team for two days before returning to London. Liverpool will then tell Dulwich Hamlet how they believe the player did and inform them whether they want to take their interest any further.
