Levante members offered free season tickets after promotion to La Liga

Levante president Quico Catalan has said the club will give free season tickets to loyal members when they return to La Liga next season.

A 1-0 win at home to Oviedo on Saturday, their 23rd of the campaign, saw them gain immediate promotion back to the top flight after finishing at the foot of the top division 12 months ago.

Catalan said the fans had been crucial and told Cadena Cope: "All our members that went to watch our team in 18 games will get a free season ticket for next season.

"That is the pledge we made at the start of the season when we unveiled our aims and it was on the proviso that the team gained promotion to the top flight.

"The fans had to be, and are, part of this success. It's a beautiful way to reward and generate a sense of fidelity towards this club."

He said the move would "cover around 80 percent" of the club's membership, which is reportedly around 12,500.

And he added: "We are growing as a club and we are in an important city. For the last four or five years, we have been counting on young people."

Levante's most expensive season ticket this season was €350 for members and €400 for non-members.

But Catalan said promotion meant they would not lose out financially, explaining: "We will have to renounce around five percent of our budget [from season tickets], but our TV revenue will increase considerably."

He added that coach Juan Ramon Lopez Muniz would continue to guide Levante next season.

Lopez Muniz joined last summer and had a clause in his contract that meant it would be automatically renewed in the event of promotion.

"He is a coach that has got the best out of the players, who have given everything for this jersey," Catalan said. "He will be our coach next season, 100 percent."
