Leicester players fear Ranieri will cancel Christmas party - Simpson

Danny Simpson has said Leicester City may not be allowed a Christmas party if their current run of poor form in the Premier League continues.

Although they are unbeaten in the Champions League and have qualified for the knockout stages they have taken only 13 points from their first 13 league games and sit just two points above the bottom three after the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough that was salvaged via a 94th minute Islam Slimani penalty.

"I don't think we will be allowed a Christmas party at this rate," Simpson said.

"A lot of people want to beat the champions, maybe they are giving it a bit more. But when you score in the last seconds like that it could be a big turning point.

"The fighting spirit was there and it was a bit of relief to get the goal at the end."

Jamie Vardy hasn't scored for Leicester since the 4-1 defeat against Liverpool on Sept. 10 but Simpson backed the England international to rediscover his touch in front of goal soon.

"Teams are playing a bit deeper, they are not letting us put the ball in behind for Jamie to chase because they know he is going to beat anyone in a race," he said.

"But with his pace and work rate he will score one and then go and score loads more.

"I know he is a striker and they love scoring goals but I have not seen a difference in him. In training he is putting them in from all over the place. He will score very soon."
