Leicester's Islam Slimani praised by Wes Morgan after winner vs. Porto

Wes Morgan hailed Islam Slimani after the striker scored Leicester City's winner in the 1-0 victory over Porto.

Leicester made it two wins from two in the Champions League on Tuesday, with Slimani heading home Riyad Mahrez's cross in the first half to secure all three points for the Foxes.

The Algeria international has now scored four goals in four games for Leicester since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

"Islam Slimani is a handful and he works hard for his goals so he deserves a lot of credit, we're really pleased for him tonight," Morgan told BT Sport.

"He works hard for his goals, he's come in and scored some vital goals for us. Let's hope there's more to come from him."

Leicester sit top of Group G on six points after Tuesday's results, two points ahead of Copenhagen, who they face next in the competition.

"We know we've got to be resilient, especially at home," Morgan added. "We had to dig in at the end tonight so it's pleasing to get the three points.

"We looked good today, the boys stood firm. Credit to all the boys, who really worked hard and got us the three points."

Mahrez added: "We knew it would be tough tonight and we'd have to work hard to get the points. We're really happy with it.

"[Slimani's] always ready and in the box. I just put the ball in the box and he was there. We're just happy to get the points and we have to carry on."
