Leicester's Claudio Ranieri might not watch Chelsea vs. Tottenham

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has said he probably will not be watching Tottenham Hotspur's game at Chelsea on Monday, even though the outcome could see his side clinch the Premier League title.

Leicester were unable to secure the victory that would have clinched the 2015-16 title after they drew 1-1 at Manchester United on Sunday, with Wes Morgan's goal for the Foxes cancelling out Anthony Martial's opener.

Should second-placed Tottenham fail to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday, then Leicester's incredible season will be capped by a famous title win.

Ranieri, though, is travelling to his native Italy late Sunday to visit his 96-year-old mother. He will have lunch with her on Monday before flying back to England and could miss the match.

He said: "I think I'm on a flight back from Italy ... I'll find out the result when I land."

Regarding the result, the Italian is quoted by the BBC as saying: "The performance was good after the first 15 minutes, when we were a little scared. United started very well and it was difficult for us to restart. After the goal we played better and I think the draw is the right result.

"I wasn't worried because we have very good heart and I knew we would react. The goal maybe gave us more confidence slowly -- without Jamie Vardy, it's difficult for us. Marouane Fellaini kicked Robert Huth and it wasn't a good show from him.

"For us it was important to show our mentality -- the beginning wasn't good but after that I appreciated our performance. I'd like to watch the Tottenham match, but I'm on a flight back from Italy, so I might not know the result until I land. For us it's important to continue to work. I met [Manchester United boss] Louis van Gaal in 1994 -- he said to me good luck."
