Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs cannot believe title possibility

Christian Fuchs has told Der Westen "he can't grasp" the idea that he is close to winning the Premier League title with Leicester City in his first year in England.

The Foxes, 5,000-1 outsiders at the start of the season, need three points from their final three games to make sure of the crown.

After nine years in the Bundesliga, playing for Bochum, Mainz and Schalke, Fuchs left Germany last summer and signed a three-year deal at Leicester.

Less than a year later, the Austrian is set to win the first major trophy of his career with the Foxes, for whom he has started 27 Premier League matches this season.

"Actually, I can't really grasp it that we have the chance to win the title," he said. "But we still need that one win.

"Our chances now are very good. We have a seven-point lead on Tottenham. It's entirely down to us.

"We will try and keep a clean sheet also in the last three games. That's been the name of the game throughout the season. We usually score at least once."

On Sunday, Leicester face Manchester United at Old Trafford and host Everton at the King Power Stadium the following week.

But if they lose at United, they would still be champions if Chelsea defeated Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Fuchs explained that he had lost track of all the ticket requests he had received for Leicester's remaining games, saying: "Sadly, I had to turn down all my friends. As a player, I only get four tickets per match. I am sorry."
