Leicester hand fans 'multi-year' bans over resale of season tickets

Leicester City have banned a number of their season-ticket holders over the resale of tickets.

With the club on the verge of sealing an incredible Premier League title, tickets for the Foxes' final home game of the season against Everton sold out within 90 minutes and are now being sold for over £15,000 ($21,350) a pair online.

However, the club revealed that it has already handed out "multi-year" bans to fans who sold their tickets for profit.

"The Club has a duty of care to its supporters and is working diligently to prevent ticket touting, while also encouraging all fans to report any such activity," a statement read.

"As a result, a small number of Season Ticket Holders and Members have this week received multi-year bans, preventing them attending Leicester City games or purchasing tickets to any Leicester City fixture, as well as having their own Season Tickets and Memberships cancelled without compensation.

Tickets for the game have a face value of £30-£50 ($43-$71) for adults and £5-£15 ($7-$21) for children and Leicester need three wins from their five remaining games to guarantee claiming the trophy.

West Ham and Swansea are next on their fixture list, with a visit to Manchester United ahead of their clash with Everton. They then visit current champions Chelsea on the final day of the season.
