Wes Morgan set for new Leicester City contract - source

Leicester City captain Wes Morgan is in advanced talks over a new contract with the Premier League leaders, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC.

Morgan, 32, has been ever-present in Claudio Ranieri's side this season, forming a central defensive partnership alongside Robert Huth to help Leicester go five points clear at the top of the table with just seven games remaining.

The Jamaica international, who joined Leicester from Nottingham Forest in January 2012, has just over a year to run on his current deal at the King Power Stadium after signing a new three-year deal in 2014.

A source told ESPN FC that Leicester have now opened talks over an extension and negotiations are progressing well, with an agreement expected to be reached before the end of the campaign.

Leicester have kept four clean sheets in their last five games, conceding only six goals in 12 Premier League games since the turn of the year.
