Claudio Ranieri: Demarai Gray is a 'perfect' player for Leicester City

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has described new signing Demarai Gray as "perfect" for the club.

Gray, 19, moved to the King Power Stadium from Midlands neighbours Birmingham earlier this month after impressing Ranieri in a preseason friendly.

He could make his debut in Sunday's FA Cup tie against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, and Ranieri told Leicester's official website that the player could "grow up" with the Foxes.

"I didn't know him before the friendly match against Birmingham. He scored and he played well against us," he said. "He's young with good quality. He can grow up with us.

"He can play as a winger. He's fast with good skills. He dribbles very well, and one-on-one he's good. He can cross and shoot. He's perfect for us.

"Of course the league is our priority, but we also think about the FA Cup. I want to build all the team, and that means all the group. I will play the players who didn't play so far."

Leicester have enjoyed an outstanding season and are second in the Premier League table with 40 points from 20 games, but Ranieri stressed that he wanted to "improve in every situation, every moment."

He added: "I know it's very difficult, but we'll try. At this moment we have nothing to lose. Only to improve, only to achieve. It's exciting.

"We've done a lot -- but we have to improve."
